Dialysis is a treatment that filters and purifies the blood using a machine. This helps keep your fluids and electrolytes in balance when the kidneys can't do their job. Dialysis has been used since the 1940s to treat people with kidney problems.

There are Two Main Types of Dialysis :

● Hemodialysis uses a machine. It is sometimes called an artificial kidney. You usually go to a special clinic for treatments several times a week.

● Peritoneal dialysis uses the lining of your abdomen, called the peritoneal membrane, to filter your blood.
